Hatha Yoga comes from the classical period, founded by Swami Swatmarama. Hatha is the basis of many other styles of yoga, therefore it has aspects such as asanas, pranayama and meditation in common with other styles. The asanas tend to be more static and transitions slower and smoother than other styles with more movement or flow, perfect for beginners or yogis who prefer a more relaxed style where they hold the poses longer.
